Antivirus exclusion

Windows 10 / 11 Defender

Game clients and their anti-cheat protect memory the same way some malware does, so antivirus can false-flag them and delete Launcher.exe, Engine.exe or the anti-hack. They are safe. Add an exclusion:

Windows 10 / 11 (Defender)

  1. Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection.
  2. Manage settings (under “Virus & threat protection settings”).
  3. Scroll to Exclusions → Add or remove exclusions → Add an exclusion → Folder.
  4. Select your MuExp game folder.
If a file was already removed: Windows Security → Protection history → open the item → Actions → Allow / Restore, then run the launcher again.
Best to add the exclusion before the first launch, so nothing gets deleted mid-update.
